In 1966 I was the best pitcher in dade county, bar non! The next guy closest to me was Steve bomse 13-2 and those 2 loses wer to me! Henry S. I was 13-1 with 8 shutouts and ended that year with an Era of 0.12 we also went undeafeated at 19-0 the first team to ever do that in Dade County. At that time Manny Crespo Sr was my shorstop Lazaro mata my catcher.Mata had a gun for an arm. I believe that year only two guys stole 2nd base on him.Dice if u knew my cmplete history as a ball player in Dade easly i'd be in ur top 100 best of the Sixtys,Fyi

ReplyDeleteHenry was a great pitcher! Manny Crespo was one of the smoothest infielders that I ever played against. Tito Gomez from Columbus was one of the best that I've ever seen at second base, he went on to play for the U!
ReplyDeleteI batted against Steve Carleton, Oscar Zamora, Dave McCammon, Freddy Norman, George Mira, ETC Miami had some of the best in the business! George pitched for the Key West Conches!
I forgot my old friend from Miami Jackson High School, Michael Tucker! He was a helluva pitcher and a great friend!
